Dialog wins major innovation award

Dialog Information Technology has won the 2018 Victorian iAward for the development of the GEO Gateway Prison Operating System.

The Gateway Prison Operating System is used to manage and operate prisons, supporting innovative means to reduce the risk of prisoners reoffending through a focus on holistic intervention and integrated case management. It supports GEO’s Continuum of Care inside prison and during post release reintegration, leading to clear benefits to prisoners and wider society, while reducing costs to government and taxpayers.

For the past 25 years, the Australian Information Industry Association (AIIA) has been driving an innovation nation through their iAwards program. The iAwards is Australia's longest running and most broadly scoped innovation recognition program. The iAwards unearths, recognises and rewards excellence in Australian innovation that is making a difference and has the potential to create positive change for the community.

The award recognises Dialog's innovation in the development of the Gateway system.

The judges considered the system's security, scalability and uniqueness.

Dialog used an Agile methodology to build and deploy three separate three tier .NET applications with highly secure interfaces to multiple systems.
Dialog also provided DevOps services to support releases to multiple AWS environments.
Full test capability, including specialised Usability, Accessibility, Functional, System, Performance, Penetration and Automated testing was provided.
