For more than 10 years, Dialog’s consultants have provided a complete IT service to the Department of Health in the Northern Territory. A number of major applications are supported in the delivery of these wide ranging services:

  • Community Care Information System (CCIS) - a Jade system providing patient records and care planning to urban health clinics, mental health and child protection.
  • Primary Care Information System (PCIS) - a Jade system providing acute care to many of the rural and remote health clinics in the Northern Territory
  • Onestaff - The cornerstone of staff scheduling for the Department’s five hospitals and two correctional service facilities.
  • Patient Travel System - Manages all patient travel arrangements for the Department’s clients.
  • Pensioner Concession System - Records clients’ details, eligibility and concession.
  • Shared Electronic Health Record system - Provides a widely accessible but secure electronic health record (eHealth) across the Northern Territory.
  • Notifiable Diseases System - Manages the occurrence of all territory and national reportable diseases.
  • My eHealth Record System (MeHR) – Provides hospitals in NT and remote parts of SA and WA a way to share important patient history details instantly across large geographic areas directly from a single data repository.
  • Enterprise Billing System - PBRC (Power Billing & Revenue Collection ): Captures revenue from compensable, private and Medicare ineligible patients receiving care from Northern Territory public hospitals, which automatically calculates charges for hospital services, create and print invoices, electronically submit Medicare claims and Health Fund invoices, and direct revenue to selected cost centres and standard classifications for ease of reconciliation and revenue budget management.

Dialog’s MeHR system won first prize in the Improvement in the Patient Journey category at the 2012 WA Health Awards. MeHR provides an accurate, up-to-date database of the complete picture of a patient’s history that is accessible to clinicians and patients. Over 4 million records were carefully migrated from a relational database structure to a generic structure storing XML documents. MeHR is now being expanded to a total of ten Kimberley sites.
